Short description

The absorbency tester is used to determine the absorption
of liquid media such as water, aqueous solutions, oils, varnishes and similar from paper, solid board and corrugated board from the top or bottom side in a specified time. For water, this is done in accordance with DIN EN 2035 (formerly DIN 53132), ISO 535, CPPAF.2, APPITA/AS 1301.411, FEFCO No. 7, SCAN P12, SCAN P37 and TAPPI T 441.

The absorbency tester consists of a base plate on which a bearing block with electronic stopwatch is arranged. In the bearing pedestal, the boiler support and the slewing crank, which are rigidly connected to each other, are rotatably mounted. The liquid container is located loosely in the boiler support and is therefore easy to replace. The lid is hinged to the boiler support and is spring-locked to the liquid container by a catch. The spring preload is adjustable so that paper and cardboard of different thicknesses can be tested.
