Short description
The DuPont Impact Tester is designed to test the durability of coated materials when struck (impacted) by a falling weight at specific locations. The purpose of the test is to determine if the specimen can withstand the impact test.
The principle of the test is that a coated specimen material is hit by an impact at a certain height and in this way the damage or deformation of the test piece can be checked.
The DuPont Impact Tester can also be used on coatings with coated materials. The same procedure is followed in which the impact tips or needles fall freely on the test piece from a certain height. This is done three times with a sample piece, which must then rest for one hour. The specimen is then checked for cracks in the paint.
